Great purchase! I use the heater in a large-sized bedroom, free-standing, not wall-mounted.
Pros:
-Keeps the bedroom incredibly warm, even on the economy mode.
-Although lacking a thermostat, it is still easy to keep the temp in the room right where you want it.
-My kittens love curling up in front of it and thus far have not burst into flames. Awesomely pet safe it seems.
-Got it for a good price during the off-season.
-Completely silent, great for cold nights
Cons:
-The back does get hot, but doesnt not seem to radiate a lot of heat. It is simply hot to the touch. Still not sure if I would mount it to a wall.
-There was an initial smell, but having read other reviews and the warning on the heater, I ran it outside for a few hours and it has never caused any odors indoors.
-Does not warm my soul during the winter of my discontent, but then again was not advertised as a son of York.

After intensive research I purchased this heater instead of an Edenpure. Very happy. I really cant believe an Edenpure could be $300 better than this unit. At first we thought it was a dud. You dont get instant "wow thats hot" heat. But, after it had a few hours to get the house to temp, we were cozy. We close off our rooms & only heat our 500 sq ft living kitchen area (with vaulted ceilings) Our furnace is set at 65-67 & doesnt kick on anymore. The temp in the home is 72 and comfortable, not drafty. For the first time ever, I can walk around not all bundled up and enjoy a movie not under a pile of blankets. I am sensitive to noise so we bought this unit that doesnt have a fan/blower, so we just keep our ceiling fan on the low-winter setting. Slim design is also a plus in our small home. Wall mounting option is also great to keep kids/pets from hurting themselves. I have found nothing about this heater that I dont like.
